The first match against Nottinghamshire was held
at The Norfolk Golf & Country Club on Thursday 7th April.
Sixteen members of The Norfolk Captains teed up against sixteen
members of the Nottinghamshire captains, on a very warm afternoon
at the Norfolk Golf and Country Club Reymerston.
The course was in excellent condition considering it is only the
beginning of April, all participants enjoyed their golf, which
was rounded off by an excellent meal provided by the chef and
all were looked after during the day and evening by an excellent
team from the Norfolk Golf & Country Club.
The Club Captain Greg Rolingson welcomed the members from both
societies, at the dinner and the responses by the Secretary, David
Hughes (who said that he was sorry that the Society Captain Keith
Bass of Norfolk had unfortunately had to return home, after meeting
the members earlier) and their Society Captain Keith Whitehead
were received with acclamation from the members.
The Hon Sec. for Norfolk, Ian Alderton thanked David Hughes and
Frank Myers (the immediate past society secretary for Norfolk),
for working hard to get this fixture off the ground and said that
Norfolk members were looking forward to the return match next
year.
The result was tied at four wins for each team, a nice way to
start the link up between the two societies.
He wished all a safe journey home and a successfull season for
all.
