The match against the Association of Suffolk Golf
Captains was held on Thursday 21st July at Costessey Park Golf
Club.
Twentyfour players from each County, played four ball better ball
on an excellent golf course. The match started in the rain, which
quickly passed over and all enjoyed themselves, Norfolk a little
bit more than Suffolk, as they won eight and a half to three and
a half.
The staff at Costessey Park looked after us all extremely well,
from the moment of arrival, to our departure in the evening.
After
an excellent dinner, the Club Captain, Paul Killingback welcomed
all to Costessey Park and hoped that they had all enjoyed the
course and the meal.
The President of the SNGC, Alan Nichols responded and then welcomed
the members from Suffolk, with his now customary banter.
This was responded to by the President of the Suffolk Captains
by,James Gardiner, who also presented the trophy to Alan, with
equal good humour.
Before departing, the secretary announced the date and venue of
next years match, Wednesday 18th July at Rookery Park Golf Club.
